I obtained this from another message board

"Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told a Japanese newspaper that the Revolution will be in North American stores by Thanksgiving. Still no word from Iwata on the system’s price, though he did quip in the article that “Even if it’s a superb machine, it’s not going to sell if it’s 50,000 yen ($434). We plan to make [the Revolution] an affordable price.”

Looks like Nintendo and Sony are going to battle it out again "

TOO LATE!

The more and more I hear about the Revolution, the more I want to get one. If i get both Ps3 and Rev, I'll be spending a stupid amount of money on games and other junk.

I'd be up for some Contra, River City, Dodgeball, Bubble Bobble action.

Anybody else think Ninetendo sinks or swims based on the price of obtaining the older games?

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here!!

No, I see the retro catalog as an "extra" I want a revolution solely to see the next Metroid Prime using that crazy controller.

Luke's right here.
Playing old titles is and schould only be a sweet extra.

The main thing should be playing fantastic new games in a new (hopefully fantastic) way. :)

I still believe the Revolution will be under 250$... I hope...

I agree with you here, but my true excitement is for the stuff we don't even have the slightest clue about. It's the quirky games that nobody expects that will define my experience with the Revolution.

New and quirky is fine, but I hope it doesn't become a DS... little more than gimmicky crap... the DS has some great games and all, but 90% of the library is touch screen garbage, things that shouldn't even be considered games...

I much hope the Revolution will be like the DS in some matters.

The DS has the most games of all platforms on my wishlist right now.

And: Not all Revolution games will even use the new remote control type controller. That's why I'm sure there will be lots and lots of "usual" games as you have them on other platforms, too.
But the games utilizing the new form of control are what I'm waiting for.
