Hey I noticed something whilst playing a ROM for Mike Tyson's Punch Out. When I went to battle, I think, Soda Popinski, all the advice I could get from Doc was JOIN THE NINTENDO FANCLUB TODAY!!!!! Anyhoo, I was just wondering if this actually happened on the game at any point. If It's only on this one ROM, then has anyone else seen it? :?

There isn't really any advice needed for Soda. He's easy.

And... que the muffinman. O-kay, so... right I guess I wasn't the only one, just seeing things, or on an LSD trip. Well, I guess Nintendo founded subliminal advertising.
Child1(walking down the street): Hey, y'know, if Doc said it, we'd better listen!
Child2: Yeah! Thanks, Doc.

Yep, it's certainly on the cart. I don't know if I find it funny, or annoying. I dislike paying for a game and having it plastered with ads. unless of course it's a racing game, where ads just make the track look like a real track.

"Teh_1337_muffinman" wrote:JOIN THE NINTENDO FANCLUB TODAY!!!!! Actually it's "Nintendo Fun Club". Most games released by 1987 came with subscription forms for it. It's what you joined way back in the early Nintendo days when you were "cool". There was a small monthly magazine by Nintendo called the " Nintendo Fun Club News". It provided tips, codes, strategies, and previews of NES games (one issue covered 'Mike Tyson's Punch-Out'). Eventually that publication grew into something much bigger and was the precurser to what we now know as "Nintendo Power" magazine. Sadly no, you cannot join the Nintendo Fun Club in the actual game. http://www.playthenes.com
