Now that I think about it, at least the characters in DBZ had different attacks. Inuyasha has what, three moves?

I HATE DBZ! (and all the spinoffs)

That's not Anime; it's pure crap.

But's that's just my opinion.

 Yes DBZ does have its slow parts but the "not-slow" parts (ie: Gohan defeating Cell [personal favorite], Goku going ssj4 [DBGT], etc.....) Ruled!!!! But that's just my opinion :D

Allright, here's my impression of DBZ..

"Look! A nemesis."

"I'm stronger!"
"No, I'm stronger."

"I'm stronger!"
"No, I'm stronger."

"I'm stronger!"
"No, I'm stronger."

"I'm stronger!"
"No, I'm stronger."

"Look! I'm talking!"
"Now we're fighting!"

"...And fighting!"

"...And fighting!"

"...And fighting!"

"...And I'm dead!"

"...But I'm back!"

"So what?"
"I learned a new move."

"So we're fighting!"

"Current nemesis dead; repeat process."

I saw a film with Lupin the 3rd in, it was called the castle of castriolago (I'm not sure if it's spelt right) and it was a mighty fine film. It was a Miyazaki film, so it automatically qualifies as cool.

Oh, huge fan. I can't begin to describe how vehement a fan I am. [grumbles]

Got a question about Lupin, though. How come it's spelled and pronounced (in the Japanese version) Lupin, and the English version pronounces it Lupon? What are we, French? It's got an "i" in in it!

Miyazaki's movies are the best.
And Lupin III rocks. Lupin is just so damn cool. (And Goemon, who likes to cut planes in half with his sword  )

Yeah, that was a damn funny episode. I liked it when they all got hangovers from the wine.

Goemon: "You never get hangovers like this with sake."
Lupin: "Gee, maybe that's because It tastes like crap?"

Just finished watching an episode of Gigantor. I would like to reaffirm, for the record, that it was the greatest show ever. My reasoning?

1. Robots. Japan is filled with them. You can't walk five feet without tripping over some robot. They have to build new robots to get rid of the old robots, which are then hijacked and used for nefarious purposes.

2. Every single character in the show has the IQ of your average parakeet. Seriously. You keep expecting them to attack their own reflections. It's awesome.

3. The totally fitting tropical-island-beat themesong.

4. The mind-bendingly stellar animation.

5. Eight year olds can drive cars.

I just watched my Rumiko Takashashi's Anthlogy volume one.... hahaha the third show on the disk (middle age teenager) was just so politically wrong.... I loved it. The middle aged guy hits his head and thinks he's 13 and he is oogling teenage girls... :

There's more, but it's just so silly.

I also just finished Mermaid Forest....OMG, that was so kick ass! Now I just need to become weathly enough to buy the rest of the show.

I'm gong to explode, and it's all your fault. Just wanted to let you know that.

The only two animes that I have ever truly, in every sense of the word, liked, are Ghost in the Shell (movies and tv shows. Manga doesn't count, because it's concentrated mind-rot, know matter what the plot is) and Cowboy Bebop. Both have deep (as in; really deep. As in, not fake, contrived, or "meaningful"), likable (as in; interesting, believable, and usually not irritating) characters. They have interesting (as in; not stupid, and actually has a point) plotlines.

As for other animes, the best I can have is a love/hate relationship. Take Big O and Evangelion, for example. I absolutely love the stylish, fluid, intricate, seizure-inducing robot battles.

However, I absolutely loathe and detest every single character, I absolutely abhore the overly complicated, "meaningful", superficially intelligent, artsy, and just plain stupid plotlines, and, finally, I hate their themesongs.

Big O's themesong has two lyrics. Do you want to know what they are? "Big O". Now repeat that. Do it again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.
Congratulations. You just sang Big O's themesong.

Now, you may be curious as to why I hate Evangelion's theme song. First of all, it's J-bop. I hate J-bop. Second of all, it's exactly like the show; contrived, overly artsy, and "meaningful". Here's some of the lyrics.

A cruel angel's thesis
Will someday fly high from the window
If memories are betrayed by
The overflowing, burning pathos (emotions).
Young boy, shine like a legend,
Holding the sky in your arms.

I don't care what the hell anyone tells me, that doesn't mean anything. It's gibberish. Which is exactly what makes it "meaningful".

...

Damn, Ghost in the Shell kicks ass.

sailor moon was funny and not too bad, and cardcaptor wasnt all that bad either, but, the Big-O theme song was the best part of the show.

Well, my friend yesterday loaned me his CD with a very special anime on it, something called "GantZ". He can't talk to me about it without cracking up. He told me that it had everything that an anime should have.

Insane violence, gore, excessive and wholly unnecessary nudity, a nonsensical plot based on an equally nonsensical manga, only different, absolute hilarity (and deliberate hilarity, too!), and, of course, relentless child abuse.

Well, I watched it, and... it's perfect. I recommend that everyone over the age of sixteen watches this. I want to tell more about it, but... it's indescribable.
