Have you heard of Talkman? Talkman is a voice recognition software by Sony for the PSP. It sounds very interesting. The game comes together with a microphone you stick upon the PSP and translates your sentences (or is supposed to... ) between 4 languages, which are American English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Gamespot and Ign have screenshots and videos on their pages. Make sure to check those out. I think this is a very creative and innovative approach and might as well make me buy a PSP some time in the future (my wife seems to want that). Sony already announced a version with 5 European languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish and of course Japanese as the game lanuage). It should hit the shelves in May, timely before the World Cup in Germany. What do you think of this concept? Would you buy something like that if it was released in your country? I think I'd buy it if I already owned a PSP. Because I think you have to support innovation. I read some reviews on the amazon homepage and many say that load times are slow and voice recognition isn't 100% good, but what the heck, it's something totally new in the console world and so it's not gonna be perfect. And there are reviews that say they actually like the "game" and that it's much fun.

Ok, I wouldn't buy a PSP just for that... (I'd sure try to run emulators on the PSP, too and buy some neat RPGs :) )

The mention of gameplay with the microphone reminded me of Hey You Pikachu and Mario Party 6. I have been planning on getting a PSP since Christmas but I dont know weather to get that or upgrade my PC. I still am waiting for the digital camera to come out for the PSP.

I don't think voice recognition works very well in games... especially if it's in a survival horror game.

Talkman is not a game really. And no especially survival horror game.
But why shouldn't this work?
If you scream loud enough you could scare the ghouls away. :P Or you say a prayer and ghosts disappear. The possibilities are endless. :D

Sorry, I was just taking an opportunity to take a crack at Lifeline... though I suppose it's more of an adventure game... Anyway, the voice recognition in that was awful.

It's an interesting concept for sure. If I had a PSP and it were cheap, i'd pick it up. As to how good it is, we'll have to wait and see.
