HI,
I created this thread to discuss games having different ending. If you know any games that have different ending depending on how you play, discuss them here.

If you finish the game collecting a large amount of treasure, you will see uncle Scrooge on a big pile of treasure instead of a small chest.

To collect such a large amount of treasure, you will have to find the hidden treasures and whenever LaunchPad offers you a ride home, take it.
You can save all your money and get to collect them again the next time you play the stage.

Good topic! Well, a couple of games that quickly come to mind are CastleVania II and CastleVania III.

There are about four different endings for CVIII I believe. It all depends on who you take with you to the end of the game. There are endings with Trevor alone, Trevor and Sypha, Trevor and Grant, and Trevor with Alucard. I remember it was a blast back in the day getting all those endings!

On CastleVania II there are three endings. I believe time is the factor that decides which ending you get. One ending is in black-and-white, which is the worst ending you can get. It happened to be the first ending I ever got when I first completed the game :P There are two more that are in color though. One that has Simon dying, and the other has Dracula's hand coming out of the grave at the end (the latter one is the best ending you can get). I didn't even know about the last ending until just sometime last summer I believe! It's not hard to get if you know where you're going though.... just play it 'til you know it ;)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, though there are plenty of others. By the way, let's try and keep this thread strictly NES 8)

DuckTales2.

The ending depends on whether you collect all 7 pieces of the map or not.
If you collect them all, you get an extra stage and an extra treasure.

Without this, the game ends in Mcduck wondering about the secret treasure that he set out to get on the first place. Clearly, an unhappy ending.

So, better collect all the maps to get the happier ending.

NES, eh? Bubble bobble comes to mind. The only way to get the good end is to have two players, and take the secret door.

Kid Icarus has 4 endings, I beleive. Possibly 5. It's all based on how many Items you have and if you have full hearts or not when you beat Medusa. I beleive the only real difference between the endings is how 'tough' Pit looks in them. But I don't really pass that game enough to know the differemces too well :P

And, of course, there's Metroid. That one's based on time as well, I beleive. I'm not sure how many endings there are.

Sticking with NES only...

Apparently Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde has 2 endings, but I can't see why anyone would want to play it enough to see even one ending.

I haven't tried it myself but I remember reading that you can get the good ending when playing alone by using controller 2 to bring in the second player just before you finish the game.

My friend and I got the secret ending on Bubble Bobble. It took as minute because both people have to live through the final boss battle.

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here!!

Maniac Mansion has a few different endings depending on which players you have and how you go about beating the game.

The most common ending is the kids on the porch talking to Dr. Fred. What is said depends on if one of your kids died. and maybe something else.. i can't remember.
The neater ending is when you get on a talk show (actually, you're just backstage). Plus there's something extra that can happen during this ending. (trying not to post too many spoilers)

I just remembered Mighty Bomb Jack.
The ending differs depending on the items collected and if you save the Princess/King/whatever. Although, truthfully, I have never seen any ending for this game :P

And yeah, Bubble Bobble, you can just come in at the last second with player 2. But it would still have to be a 2-player game... I think :\

I think another factor in Castlevania II can be the amount of energy left in the game.

Other games that aren't mentioned yet:

Duck Tales (having to do with the amount of money)
The Simpson: Bart vs. the World (if you don't collect all the Krusty statues you get a "bad" ending)

Many sports games (you'll just see another flag or something like that :P )

Adventure Island 3 has I think 2 endings. It depends weather or not you take the level skips.

Oh yeah, can't believe I forgot that one. It has 7 endings in total I think. I did about 3 of them, my favourite being when you put the meteor in the back of the car and blast it into space (just because it's so bizarre).
