Oh man... I'm getting all jittery. In other news, automatic translation sucks. "Google" wrote:New Super Mario Bros. will be a return to the sources and thus more accessible to people who do not play forcing with the video games, Nintendo put mainly on the traditional gameplay, which made the success of the first shutters, more than on the scenario of the play.
The SiniLegion wants YOU!Signature mostly fixed by Luke. ;)

Yay! That is so cool! If I wasn't so tired I'd do the "happy dance". :D http://www.myspace.com/jennikisaI need friends.... I had to nix Tom. He wasn't really my friend. His smile "mocked" me.

I was going to get it anyway, but this announcement makes me want it even more. I hope they don't screw it up, but I have faith in them.

So, what do those who have played this game think of it? Is it deserved of the hype?

The best comparison I can give is... Imagine Super Mario World, with some throwbacks to Super Mario Bros. 1 (flag poles at the end of the levels, some of the boss fights)

I only read one review that said it's better than Yoshi's island. All others including Luke say it's great, but not better than Yoshi's Island... so I'll believe that one. :) Now I only have to wait for it to become weekly special at play-asia. :)

Super Mario World was/is a great game, so if it's anything like that, it's going to kick ass. So, does it have the speculated 80 levels?

Well, 78 is near enough 80. It's still a hell of a lot of levels.

So what's this I see on the commercials with Mario walking right through bricks on this one when he's big? Is that part of this game or just commercial hype? Whatever it is, from the looks of this one in general, I've got to pick up that damn DS soon...

Mario gets super huge, the more junk your mash, the more lives you get when the effect wears off.

I just finished 100%ing this game (3 stars). It was awesome. Now I'm gonna start trying to work on speed running it. Nothing hardcore like the guys who make the videos, but just try to see how fast I can get. I've never played Yoshi's Island, but I always hear it's so amazing. I need to get a SNES and try it out someday.

Never played Yoshi's Island? ... *fainting*
*waking up* ... Get it and play it! And fast! Best platformer ever.
And soon there will be Yoshi's Island 2. :o

A certain "kind of mentally unbalanced" friend of mine will be happy to hear about the destruction in the new SMB because for some reason, smashing bricks in even the original was more attractive to him than anything else... :? Yes, I agree with the Yoshi's Island awesomeness. It never ceases to amaze me how Nintendo keeps coming up with new ways to play games (re: Yoshi's hurling of the eggs at targets to defeat them), while mostly with PS2 and such you just shoot 'n' slash. Unfortunately, I don't have the cart of this, just the ROM, and no control pad, and Yoshi's extremely hard to control with the keyboard!

That's why I've never played the game. It came out really late in the SNES lifetime, at which time I wasn't buying any new games for the system. Also, I don't like playing games with an emulator, especially platformers. I find the control timing is always off and it just leads to frustration. How is the GBA version of it? Maybe I can grab that and play it on my DS.

The GBA version is really great. Same as the SNES version only thing extra is the Mario Bros Arcade game.

I've been playing through this game and reached world 8. It appears that I can't gain acsess to the fourth and seventh worlds. How can I? do I have to collect star coins or something?
