I just downloaded the Beta version and made an Account. Does anyone here use Skype? I would love to talk with the Members here.

Some friends from Japan asked me the same thing and I really want to use it, but I think I have too little upload bandwidth to use it. How fast is your internet connection? Did you already try it? If yes, how is speech quality?

My Laptop is really really and I mean REALLY crappy. It runs perfect well almost on my Laptop. Runs faster then MSN MESSENGER.

I know it runs on almost any hardware, but there are restrictions regarding the speed of the internet connection. I only have 384kb/s (that's kilobits, not kilobytes unfortunately) downstream and 64kb/s upstream. I think it could be enough for VoIP, but nobody else could surf the internet at the same time I guess. When I find my mic again (must be in some box... God knows in what box) I'll give it a shot.

You also don't need a Mic for Skype. You can chat normal too. And yes I am pretty sure it will work on your PC.

Aah! You didn't mean voice chat. That explains all.
I thought Skype was only there for voice and video chat. (my bad)
