so, who plans to pick up Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls for the GBA? it is seriously an awesome remake of the original FF, I've played the ROM, and I'll be buying it real soon, WELL worth the money to enjoy two classics with updated graphics and gameplay. all I can say is that everything that was irritating about FF1, is fixed, it plays like a dream.

all I can say is that everything that was irritating about FF1, is fixed, it plays like a dream. I saw a commercial, and it looked pretty cool. I don't yet have a GBA, and my time to play games has dwindled to almost nothing these days... :( Maybe someday... -- Derek

even if you haven't got the time, grab the cart, it's a great remake, as I said. Since it's for the GBA, you can play any time, the SP fits in any pocket comfortably. I don't mean to pressure, but I'm very excited about the game :)

I kindof liked Final Fantasy for the nes, but I could never really get into it because it was so annoying and I always ended up getting pissed off. WAY to many random pop up battles that take WAY to long. It does hold some entertainment value to me when you venture through the towns and stuff.

I agree that on the NES it didn't play so smoothly, but DoS is just beautiful.

I'm getting the cart for Christmas, I know this because I witnessed it being purchased today :) I can't wait to get it in my grubby little paws... the excitement about that is right up there with the excitement about the girlfriend coming over on the 26th as for the ROM, I got it from http://www.suprnova.orgALSO, I read on Nintendo's website that it takes advantage of the wireless ataptor in some way, so that should be very interesting.

This new GBA version of the first two FF's seems to be just about the exact games from the PS when they were packaged together. I don't have them anymore, so I'm not really sure, though. http://robertlbryant.com

I've heard that as well, but I haven't played them on the PS http://squaresoft.com/games/DOS/tells most of the info about them, you can decide if it's the same. personally it doesn't matter to me, I love my GBA and I love FF, so it's perfect :)

Nice link!!! Even with my 28.8 dial-up, I stuck around to check out all the features. The most notable seems to be the Soul of Chaos and Soul of Rebirth extras that are exclusive to the GBA!!! Enemies from FF III - VI!!! This definately sounds great. http://robertlbryant.com

yeah, I can see it consuming a large portion of time. Thankfully the battery life is awesome on the GBA.

My favorite flaw that was fixed was the annoying 'Ineffective' thing. That used to really *&^$ me off! I'm so glad that's over with! http://robertlbryant.com

where if you attacked an enemy with two characters, and the first killed it, the second would just attack empty space? I hated that as well, that and not knowing who could use which weapons and armor.

Aaahh...yes, I forgot about that! Random testing, only to be denied. Heheh. I like the new screens included for storyline, too. http://robertlbryant.com

only a few more days, then I can waste away endless hours on a good game for once. something I haven't been able to do since FFX (which I didn't want to finish, I greatly enjoyed playing that game.) On and unrelated note, my next post will be 100, give me something cool to make my 100th post :)

Another game that I would like to see get the GBA treatment would be Chrono Trigger, that was an awesome game, as well as this strange RPG from Enix for the SNES called EVO. Both incredible games that deserve a second chance at life.

I've never played either of them. If I had my choice of game get a GBA treatment, it'd be that elusive Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for the MSX. Why in the heck isn't that in North America yet? http://robertlbryant.com
