vs. mario bros arcade style is very hard... i couldn't even manage to beat the game. i got to level 6-4.
i think it might have to do with the fact that sometimes the A button didn't work if you didn't press it hard enough. anyone else play vs. smb before?
I just beat the super mario bros 2 world record!

Yes, and I always wondered why Nintendo didn't make this the cart that came with the system back in the day (I'm not seriously complaining, I love the NES cart), but little things annoyed me, like, where is your time point bonus after defeating Bowser in each castle like in the arcade version? Where did you get this Vs. SMB? Is it a ROM? ~EDIT~>Yeah, found the ROM. I played it for about 10 minutes and only managed to make it to 1-3... Heh. Nice over inflated "top score," some hacker was certainly full of themselves.. I've got to try to beat this one, but then, I'm using the keyboard, and I've found that most action games are too hard with that.

You know, once you get used to it, the keyboard really isn't all that bad, depending on the button layout you choose.

And I've been wanting to play the arcade version for years! "Uber Newb" wrote:You know, once you get used to it, the keyboard really isn't all that bad, depending on the button layout you choose. Yeah, I've just got to get used to it. I tried Wizards & Warriors last night, and with all the "spot-on" jumping you have to do in that one, that should be some good practice.

actually i played this on arcade up in NH at funspot. It was very difficult.... considering i couldn't beat the game makes me feel kind of stupid, considering i can beat smb1 in about 5 minutes... and it has the same gameplay
trying to do it fast is not really an option in this game.
I just beat the super mario bros 2 world record!
