Well, that page, http://student.valpo.edu/jbredber/bestGame.php , is mine, first of all. I basically did something similar for a class and wanted to scale it up. and i got caught up in it a bit. Anyways, it's for fun mostly. I am always willing to take input though, just message me.

I like the voting, but isn't there a weak point? When I don't know a game (or 2 or 3), how can I vote for or against it?

Yeah, that is a little on the tough side to make a call about... if I don't know a game, I generally try to look and see if I can tell who the company is. If not, I just guess. Still, it is an interesting project. Jackal seems to be one of the top games as of this posting, and I just started playing that not too long ago. Fun game. http://robertlbryant.com

But I can't vote "from heart", when I don't know what I'm voting about. That's the weakest point in this definitely interesting project.

Same with me, but I didn't do it for 20 minutes. I stopped after about 5 minutes. He should build in a bar where he shoes you the progress.

What exactly do you mean when you say there should be a progress bar? There is page of results. http://student.valpo.edu/jbredber/bestGameResults.phpPerhaps you mean something different. About knowing neither game, I was thinking about putting a third button in, one that would allow you to skip a current matchup. I thought about it and wasn't sure about it. Maybe I could add a 'skip' button and it would count to determine which games nobody knows about...or sleepers, or something like that.

You should definitely add a skip button.
By progress bar I meant, you should state how many games there are left, so that I knwo how much time it will still take.

I stayed on it for a LONG time one night, and alot of the same games were repeating after doing it for so long. It may be some sort of random number generation :?: http://robertlbryant.com

There is no control on how many times you get a game or even if a certain game comes up. You have an infinite amount of 'matchups' left.

This is really interesting to me... what language did you use to write this? Also, are you going to leave it up for a long time? It'd be interesting to see results after many years... By the way, nice grilled ham and cheese sandwich! http://robertlbryant.com

The code is written in php, and I use mysql to store the data. I am glad to see that there is some interest in it. I don't see any reason to take it down in the near future, after all, I don't do anything for it besides the occasional tweak (like the skip button). At a minimum it should be up for about another year and half (until my graduation). But by then I would have liked to move it somewhere under my own control anyways. Thanks for the input so far, I really appreciate it. Also, if you think of anything else to add/change let me know. I am playing in my head with removing the randomness and making it more like going through all games once or something, but we'll see.

That may take away from the overall charm of it. It seems to show what games are more appreciated than others, which is in itself interesting. I personally wouldn't do too much more tweaking, just promoting! http://robertlbryant.com

That skip button is definitely a good addition. I don't feel right voting between games unless I've played them both

That's the point. Without a skip button I voted for and against games I never played.

I was checking some of the results out, and think it's pretty cool to see a games like Jackal and Fire 'n Ice towards the top of the list! On the OTHER hand, I would like to know who these gamers are that voted so much for Yo! Noid so I could tell them a thing or two! http://robertlbryant.com

I enjoy yonoid personally. But that is basically why a lot of voters are needed before it provides 'realistic' outcomes. Right now it has about 4800+ matchup votes. I would say that roughly 10 times that would be necessary to eliminate outliers and personal preference of good or bad games. But something about playing that game when I was little hasn't led me to avoid the noid...

That's it uglyjack! Here it comes! "...a thing or two!" There, I said it... Anyway, Do you think you could put the numbers back up that tell how many votes there have been? I thought that was pretty nifty. Also, on the results page, what if you put a back link somewhere at the top, too. I hate always scrolling down to hit the link, and like to have things saved in my cache. http://robertlbryant.com

Sure. The link has been put in. I have been debating about whether to put the vote count back in on voting page. I took it out because it updates one page late. It would be especially apparent when you skip a game; it would appear as though it counted something for the skip when in reality it didn't. So what I did, I put a vote total on the results page. If you think it would be better on voting page just let me know. Thanks. -A Yo Noid Fan
