I recently acquired one of these cartridges (the old black version), and It looks like you can play gameboy and N64 cartridges. Now when I put it in and turned it on, I got nothing. I did some research and it says the new ones are "2in1" and are somehow connected with "pro action replay". before I go out and but one, does it need a PAR to run?

 this isthe best I can do. It looks like a cheat cart kind of. except the N64 port is on the back.
