I was at Dr. Flea's flea market in Toronto today, and I encountered a cart-only copy of Final Fantasy III. The lady at the booth was trying to sell it for $100 Canadian. I know FF is still a hot title but this was way over the top. I did manage to get Act Raiser for $23 though. It kind of annoys me when vendors think collectors are that dumb.

Funny. I saw the same thing recently at Square 1 in uh... Mississauga, I guess. Actually, I'm not sure what city it's in. Not important. FF3 was priced at 100 dollars, then I bought Act raiser for 30. I think that's wild :D Anyway, I don't know anyone who would spend that much. It's a pretty high demand item, but still...

Actually, now that you mention it, Square One was trying to sell Chrono Trigger for $130. I asked the guy working there who traded it in, and he said it was at the store before he was. Maybe that means it's overpriced, lol. They were also trying to sell Secret of Evermore for $60. I bought mine for $10. But for some reason, their Illusion of Gaia was only like $30, and it's a much better game than Secret of Evermore. I guess people just know about Secret of Mana, lol.

I think many people just see the words "Final Fantasy" and assume it should sell at an extremely high price. SNES R.P.G's are overpriced in general. A game shop near me has had the same copy of "Secret Of Mana" in the window for a year now, far too overpriced at 60 GBP.

Yeah, you really have to watch the prices people are pushing. I got my Secret of Mana for $35 US and my FF3, which I just got on the weekend was $40 Canadian with box in excellent condition.

Speaking of over priced games, I remember sometime ago seeing Super Mario bros usa Famicom disk drive game for $200CDN at the Pickering flea markets, Ouch. But I guess your best bet is going to Trader joes here in Oshawa. All games retro wise are cheap but if you are looking for a copie of All-Stars that will cost you like $25CDN I dunno if thats rare but I should have grab the Mario All stars I found at a yard sale a few years back for $3 CIB...

Microplay sometimes sells All-Stars for like $10 I think, it was the second game I got for the system. I found FFII for $30 loose when I bought FFIII, but I like 3 a lot more.

Yeah, equal or lesser value usually ruins all the good deals, lol. I've noticed that many copies of Dragon Warrior have been popping up at stores. It's one of my favourite NES games and it's cool to see it again.

I was thinking this pal of mine was kind of a sucker for simply giving me my FF1 NES cart, until I started checking eBay. It doesn't seem like it's pulling a lot of $$ unless it's got the map, manual, box, etc. You'd think it would be worth more?

I do think the sequels to Dragon Warrior are more rare than the original, seeing as I've never seen any of the in stores.
