I saw a Dreamcast for sale that said it played all regions of games. It sold on eBay for $20 (I missed the auction, man I was pissed).

Is this pretty rare?

Also is PAL a UK version?

I guess that it was maybe a "modded" console. It would be cool to own one of these. I think that if you have a certain kind of console, you can play copies of foreign games rather easily.

The PAL is UK/European region(s) so if you had a multi region console, you could play a "legit" copy of Shenmue 2 if you don't own an xbox.

As far as I know any of the "0" or "1" DCs are totally unlocked... I've... backed up several PAL games, and played 'em just fine on my NTSC DC.

How can you tell if they are the "0" or the "1"'s?

Look on the bottom.

That's a revision 0 PAL console, the NTSC version is very similar. Notice the "0" in the circle beside the PAL designation?

I looked on my Japanese console and it didn't have either 0 nor 1 at the bottom... I think. I'll check later and if there's really no number there I'll post a pic.

Bumping with the promised pics.
My PAL DC:

It has a 1.

My Japanese console doesn't have such a number... how can I tell what's the revision number? :?

Side by side:

And from above... the DC is a very beautiful console (at least for my taste)
