I was considering buying one of these for my NTSC Dreamcast. I read up on it and it says you boot the Dreamcast up with the DC-X CD and then it will prompt you for your PAL or JAP Import game.

Wanted to know if anyone has used this and know if it works. The link for a description is below. Thanks.

I believe the free Utopia Boot CD does exactly the same. I'm not really sure though so you might wanna wait for someone else (Luke) and see what they say. But in the meantime you could download it, burn it to a blank CD, and see if it will boot your import games.

Dreamcast regions are pretty mysterious to me...

I've... "backed up" several (actually, a hell of a lot) of Japanese and PAL games, and they all work just swell in my North American NTSC console.

I'd suggest trying the loader first (assuming you have a revision "0" or "1" console).

So you can get PAL and Jap imports to work in your NTSC Dreamcast without any mods? Cool. I'll give it a go. I don't have any "back-ups" so I was trying to figure out a sure-fire way before I buy any foreign games. Thanks for the input.

I'll be getting my Dreamcast today in the mail (hopefully) and check what revision it is.

Thanks. I pretty new to "modding". I didn't know there way a free utility out there. I'll try that also, thanks again.
