Admittedly, Blu-Ray looks dicey from several non-capacity angles. Blu-Ray movies require a 1.5x Blu-Ray drive, or 54Mbits/second. Sony announced that PS3 uses a 2x BD drive, which is 72Mbits/second or 9MB/second. The Xbox360 uses a 12x DVD, which should give it about 16MB/second. That is significantly faster for games and will result in shorter load times. And that 12x DVD drive should be a whole lot cheaper. (Note that the PS3 drive will do 8x DVD, and even that is faster than 2x BD.)

I can summarise the article without even reading it.

"OMG BLU-RAYS HAEVS 50 GIBBABITES!1!!! TEH 350 CAN OLY HELD 8.5!!1!! TEH WERLD AM ENDED!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes, disc space is nice, but is Resident Evil 4 any less fun because it's on two discs?

Once you get into the "groove" of beating RE4 a lot, it gets annoying switching discs so often :P . Seriously though, I don't care if a game has more then 1 disc.

Yeah, getting off your ass every 5 - 8 hours must be just hellish...

Who in the world has real problems with disc changes?
When you play 30+ hours and change the disc once, wher's the hell is the problem?

The only good thing about BluRay is the name. It's easier to say than HD-DVD, but what the heck. :P
If they used their brains they should go for HD DVD. They also have big capacity and are cheaper and easier to produce.
And for games, normal DVD9s should be enough another 5 years. I don't own a XBox (360) or PS2 and from top of my head I don't know a game that uses 2 discs. Is there any? There are several Gamecube games with 2 discs, but those would fit on one DVD5, too.

Star Ocean: 'Till the End of Time for the PS2 is on two discs. I'm not sure why...

Then that's one in over 1000... not that much of a hassle I guess. :P
I think there are absolutely no good reasons for using BluRay. This and next generation, DVD is enough.
