Very good thread idea, Aaron--and a story comes with this post...
It was clear back in 1988 when I met my girlfriend. Circumstances parted us for many years. We met back up in 2001, less than a couple of weeks before the attack.
She had stayed her first night over when I saw that the "Food Network" had been blanked out of the TV. I thought maybe one of the chefs had died, or something, as I always had it tuned to that channel when I had cable. Then, we found out what had really happened, and we were shocked. Of course, that "girl" is now my wife; we had gotten back in touch shortly before the attack...
Which roughly means, I'll remember it forever, I guess I can compare it to when people ask older people "where were you when Kennedy was shot?"
My wife counts it as another anniversary of a type. Nothing will ever get me up in a plane. Never.
