Until now it was me who chose the Game of the Week.
Now it's up to you. I let you choose.
But only if you do something for it.

Make up a cartridge design in Photoshop (or whatever editing software you might use) and post it here.
To get an idea what I mean, you can look here.

Your entry can be serious (designs for games you'd like to see on the NES), funny (preferrably), can contain puns and profanity to a certain degree (use common sense). And it must be NES, because we're the NES-Files here.

Here's a scan of a cart, so you don't have to look for one yourself. Of course you can use other ones, too.

When I like your design, you get to choose the Game of the Week once... or twice..., depending on how many people participate and the quality of the artwork.

Happy photoshopping!

The more people participate the better.
Take your time and make as many as you want.

Here's one with some actual effort put into it ;) (not directed at campkill, those are good.)

The Attack of the Quebecois Sepratists : The great escape.
An Essential addition to the Political Series.

The game is centered around escaping from the 7 french separatists which assualt you with combinations of wonderful melodies, accordian riffs, intimidating mellotron, and red laser beams shooting from their eyes.

and a screenshot of level one for good measure

If anybody's wondering, the pictures on the cart is from Harmoniums 1975 album, which was dripping with opposition to the government and the members were sepratists.[/i]

________This post is intended for learned H2G2 Fans._________

Ok, so after spending about a day making these, I waited a while to see what else might get put up, since nothing did, here's what I cam up with to replace my previous 2-second entries.

42. The video game.

The game is absolutely based 100% around the book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy even though all the graphics are from the recent movie. Yes, I know a lot of things are lost and changed in between, but it all works out. To show you what I mean, here is a screenshot.

In this, movie-version Zaphod Beeblebrox uses a direct quote found only in the book, to speak to a character only found in the book, a methane-breathing police officer.

I did not really manufacture a health bar, but when I thought about doing so, I realised the screenshot was from a cutscene and the heatlh bar and other things of that nature are removed.

Gameplay: Choosing any of the available five characters (Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Tricia McMillian, or Marvin) you must run around in a platformer using the weapons you pick up in the level. You may use your fists, a towel, a gun, a robotic arm, or an electric thumb. The object of each level is to get through to the end where you must solve a small puzzle to get to the Infinite Improbability drive and be whisked away to the next level. At the end of the game, Earth is replaced, due to the fact that a sequal can never be made. Ever.

If you think you're right, you're probably wrong.
If you think you're wrong, you're being negative.
My thoughts are definitive; the universe is frequently wrong.

Maybe not the best, but I think it came out O.K.

Actually, not all was thinking. Some was plotting, some was planning, and finally the explaining of my plan which I plotted after I thought of it.

Well, I've been damned busy, but I managed to finally make mine.

Seeing the Lego Tarkus put me on a kick, maybe this'll get it out of my system.

Thank'ee sai.

I don't know about you, but I would sacrifice all of my limbs as well as my manhood if it meant I could see Tarkus and Godzilla fight to the death.

Well, I didn't know whether to post this in the "Fake Games Photoshop" thread or this one, and decided I haven't posted an entry yet, so here goes:

...Sloppy MS Paint writing, I know, but I'm getting ready for work.
I see "bonus items" like light bulbs, free "credit" from the local electric utility company (or magnets to stick on the meter to stop the counters cold), etc. Screwy things like that.
Oh yeah, it's one of those click Photobucket thingies.

I don't choose winners on a weekly basis.
Every time I see an entry I like the "winner" will get a pm from me. :)

The participation in this "contest" and in the Game of the Week threadswas good at first, but died down quite fast again.
Do you still want a "Game of the Week" or am I wasting my time every Monday? :?:

I think it's a nice idea, so I'll try a bit longer.
But this time you'll have more chances to participate.
It's been mostly me who chose the games, now it's your turn.
PM me with a title (or post it here) you'd like to see as GotW and I'll put it up.
First come, first served.
By this I hope to get you participate more.

I think we should stick with it. I know it may sound a bit hypocritical coming from me, as I haven't participated yet as such, but my internet acsess has been sparse at best lately due to moving/ownership of a crap computer, but that's all sorted now and I plan to participate. Hopefully, when the holiday season is over (it practically is, anyway) participation will consequently improve.
As for ideas, Duck Hunt? Excitebike? Donkey Kong?
