I have to work long on Monday, so I'll post the GotW on Sunday again.

This week's pick is Adventure Island.

Adventure Island (高橋名人の冒険島, Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Jima, lit. "Master Takahashi's Adventure Island"), also known as Hudson's Adventure Island, is a video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System and certain other platforms, first released in Japan for the Famicom on September 12, 1986. The North American NES release came in September, 1988, and the game was released as Adventure Island Classic in Europe several years later, in 1992. Developed by Hudson Soft, the game was an adaptation of the arcade game Wonder Boy, which was ported to Sega home gaming systems under its original name, except for the North American release of the Game Gear version, where it was called Revenge of Drancon.

Adventure Island would go on to found a successful video game franchise with many sequels.

I find this game quite interesting. It doesn't have the class of a Super Mario Bros. game, but still it's good old platform action. Riding the skateboard is fun.

This time, they took the same artwork for the boxes.

I've only spent an hour or 2 playing the orginal one and the second, but I've been playing Adventure Island III ever since it came out. I think it's an awesome game loaded with tons of enemies, secret bonus rounds, and items/weapons. My dad and I used to play this game nonstop when it came out. The course backgrounds repeat themselves a bunch of times and the music isnt all that different but it still is a sweet game.

This is a pretty entertaining game, very hard in the beginning, since you almost can't stop the character once you've begun. I love the graphics, the music is pretty good too.

Great game!

Actually, not all was thinking. Some was plotting, some was planning, and finally the explaining of my plan which I plotted after I thought of it.
