Between: 1 2 3 and 5 (4 was nothing but a Jap version of 2) I personally liked 2, just because it was the first ever RPG and FF game I ever played.

I personally liked 2, just because it was the first ever RPG and FF game I ever played. Keep in mind that the FF series was VERY messed up with the numbering scheme for a while... North America Japan(real) 1 = 1 2 3 2 = 4 5 3 = 6 7 = 7 and so on... I could be wrong, but that's how I seem to remember it. so I propose that this thread follow the Japanese (or real) numbering scheme.

Yea I know, I was wondering why Japan turned 4 into nothing but a remake, I know the remake of 3 > 6 was to make for a better set og graphics when the PS came out.

I have no idea what you're talking about with 4 being a remake, and Japan as a country didn't decide or do anything... all of the Japanese FF games are all original, none is a remake of any other... 1 is 1, 2 is 2, 3 is 3, you get the point, it was North America that got the screwed numbering scheme. Which was just fine at the time, but then North American's decided they wanted the other games, which lead to FF Anthology, and Chronicles those are the FF games we didn't get ported to the Playstation. there is of course always the GBA port of the FF1&2 game that was released on another handheld that I can't think of right now.

I loooooooooooooooooooooove FF3 Us (I called it that because FF6 brings memories of how bad they twisted the ending on PS so Locke died.)

FF6 rules. ... i.e. FF3 in the US.
I still have to search for FF9 in Japan. From what I've read I should love that.

FF9 is really great, I got it when it first came out and spent nearly all day every day for a week or two playing it. but the card game in FF8 is better.

I get hooked on the first one the longest. I am more of a simplistic guy and the straightfoward experience, item, and magic is right up my alley. When I played FF2 I got lost with who should do what, not to mention I hate losing equipment that I gave to a person because they die or leave my party. My second favorite has to be the one with the robots and the magi with the ghost train. I don't know which one it is, but even now I flip through the strategy guide my cousins gave me when they got rid of all their SNES stuff and remember how good of a game that was... but FF1, for sure.

I love the first game, and I am more likely to play the earlier RPG's over the newer ones. I like the overhead view better than the new 3D view instilled on games. http://robertlbryant.com

Me, too. It's great to look at pretty 3D landscapes, but... somehow those old-school games with their overhead view have just more flair... attraction. :P

One that really got me hooked was FF10. I loved that game, sadly I got stuck on "SPOILERS JechtEnd Spoiler.
