hey guys

i remember many years ago i played a nintendo game.

the only things i remember are :
it was a game about a man who was doing some mission each stage (which his boss tells him), AND at the end of each stage , some words of a letter apears . for example when you finished level 1, the letter is almost a white page with 1 or 2 words in it . and i remember before this letter is shown , the first character of the game is sitting with another man in the dark beside a fire ...(maybe)

i remember when all the words of the letter apears, he finds out that his boss was using him and the boss was criminal too...

i guess the game environment was modern , using guns, hand guns...
and the character could only go left and right . you know some games like double dragon you can go up and down too. but some games like mario , you can go only left and right, this game was like mario .

well it has been more than 10 years, please excuse my bad brief explanation.

what is the name ?

thanks in advance
