I know its hard, but if you had to pick one...I would have to say Super Mario 64, and Mario Bros 3 at a very very close second.

Of the 2D games I would say Super Mario World (but pretty close with Super Mario Bros 3 and Yoshi's Island). 3D definitey Mario 64. Hard to choose between the 2D and 3D games because they are so different. But if I had to I'd say Mario 64.

Man, now THIS is a tough question. SMB 3 rocks, SMB 2 rocks, Paper Mario 1 and 2 rock.... Honestly, it's probably a toss up between SMB 3 (which in my opinion squeaks by SMB 2.... I know you all disagree with that, but oh well) and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Now I know it's an RPG, but they just threw so much cool stuff into that game. Tough choice... but it's between those two. http://robertlbryant.com

Maybe it's better if I didn't have an avatar so i didn't have to spend all my time making one...

I actually am starting to crave (haha) SMB 1 as the best. But I only like it if it has Duck Hunt on the same cartridge for some reason that I don't know why. I love my zapper I just bought.

My favourite "mario" game is Mario RPG...it's amazing. Close second is SMW2 and then SMW. The best on NES is the original...didn't like the second and third much. Mario Kart rocks too. RIP GAMES -Walkthroughs, cheats ect... for NES, SNES, GBA RIP GAMES' FORUMS - Forum for oldschool gamers

In terms of sheer life affirming brilliance I'd have to agree with the majority of you and say Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario 64. Super Mario Bros 3 was the first video game I ever owned and it rocked my world.

I'd say SMB3 is the greatest game of all time, let alone of the Mario series.
