I was playing Bad Dudes and it came to my attention that there were Voices, "I am bad", after the completion of each stage. Well in my opinion, this is a miraculous achievment using an 8 bit system. I am wondering, is there any ohter games that have such occasional voices.

The reason, I said miraculous because, unlike the 64 bit machines which can directly use recorded voice, the 8 bit systems have to implement the sound from scratch. That is using frequencies. Or is it not the case?

I thought that certain games had added chips that allowed them to play some basic recorded sound

But still, for an 8bit machine, even if it is a bit scratchy and unclear, I think it's still a remarkable achievement :)

They also had voices in Gameboy games. e.g. in Boxxle, when you end a stage the guy says "yeah" ... or something of that sort. :P

That's really cool and agreat achievement they did back then. Everything is so easy today. :)

There were quite a few NES games that had very brief voices, such as skate or die 2.

Maybe it's better if I didn't have an avatar so i didn't have to spend all my time making one...

two more that I can think of with voices are Blades of Steel, and Days of Thunder. both are rather clear, all things considered.

Sesame Street: Big Bird's Hide & Speak was advertised as being "the first talking game for NES." However, I remember reading elsewhere that there were multiple games with voice samples released prior to this game.

Well, that is the problem with 8 bits, can't really demand much of them.

Even when you get hit on Castlevania 1-3 I think you can hear a "Boo" or some voice sound even.

Maybe it's better if I didn't have an avatar so i didn't have to spend all my time making one...

At the beginning of the Natsume game S.C.A.T., there is this really nice sounding voice that says something to the effect of, "You've got to destroy them. The Earth is counting on you. Good luck!" That one always stands out to me.

Another one is Dirty Harry. If you can't stand the game, deal with it and play through to the end. When you beat it, you get to hear Dirty Harry do the ENTIRE 'Do you feel lucky?' speech! It's actually worth it to play through the whole game just to hear it. It's amazing they were able to put that whole speech on there.

Well, since you "nevar hurd of et," it's a side-scrolling game. You're basic run, jump, shoot type of game. I haven't played it for awhile, so I can't remember if I exactly liked it or not, but I do know lots of people didn't like it. Like I said, it's good enough to hear the ending, though.

I have to mention The Three Stooges, there were a whole lot of different sound clips in it from the original shorts.
