the only kind of games I can really get into on the PC are First Person Shooters, most everything I'd rather play on a console.

I've been playing two PC games (the only two I own) TMNT and Knights of the Old Republic. Both games are sweet! http://robertlbryant.com

Well, I suppose there are the MMOs that are hard to find (and finance) on a console, I've been following Planeshift http://www.planeshift.it and Guild Wars http://www.guildwars.com recently, guildwars is awesome, but planeshift is still in alpha testing, but it's an open alpha, so check it out if you get a chance. It's a large download, but I've downloaded larger on dial-up in the past.

Half-life, Unreal, etc. I've also liked the strategy games like Command and Conquer, etc.-- they're not at all easy to control with a console controller compared to a mouse. Of course, I haven't played a PC game in years... -- Derek

Actually, when I got my PC, I didn't want to get any games for it. But my sons' a big Turtles freak, and I don't have an XBox (had to get KOTOR). Besides that, I don't really play any others. There is a new sneaking game out that I'd like to try, can't remember the name of it... http://robertlbryant.com

I just found this write up. If you haven't gotten into PC gaming, and need a few tips on how to get started, read this: http://www.ringsurf.com/info/Entertainment/Video_Games/Video_Game_Systems/PC.html http://robertlbryant.com

The only true games I have for the PC are 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City' (It has better graphics than the PS2 and supposedly doesn't contain all the flaws from the PS2 version like guys shooting you through walls and stuff but you know what- it does. However it will let me upload my own mp3's to the radio stations so now I can play Vice City to the tune of such 80's classics as "We Built This City on Rock & Roll" and "The Final Countdown"! Yeah screw you Blender magazine! Those songs RULE!) I also have the 'Maniac Mansion' remake, and the demo for 'Half-Life 2' (if I can run this one then it's game on!) And of course MAME. http://www.playthenes.com

I had the demo of Half Life 2 on a machine recently, it ran alright on the lowest settings, but it liked to reboot my machine when it tried to save, and when it came back up it yapped about some nvidia error, so I think I need to update my video drivers or something...

I play the PS2 version of GTA3, and that music gets really annoying after a while-- the same songs, over and over and over again(even if you listen to all the different stations)... I haven't seen HL2. The computers I use now-a-days probably couldn't handle it, as they don't have any fancy graphics cards-- just basic computers that I use for business, web browsing, etc... I played Half Life and Unreal TE a bit, though-- that was pretty fun... -- Derek

I think the system requires at least a GeForceFX to run it smoothly. I have a GeForce4 440 which doesn't help a lot (it also doesn't help that it's on a notebook PC). The actual game runs fine (but only at 640X480 resolution), however the opening cutscene is very slow and skippy. I hope the rest of the game is playable (I don't want to waste cash on something I can't play- but probably will anyways). I wish I could see it at 120fps or more. That would be mind blowing! http://www.playthenes.com

The old adventure games. Sierra's Kings quest series hold more childhood memories than the NES! I also love LucasArts Adventure games such as monkey Island. God Those are good games.

I actually do enjoy PC gaming. First Person Shooters are by far my favourite. My favorite game would have to be American McGee's Alice. It is a very fun game. It's 3rd person, but still, an amazing game. Visit my Blog - Updated Nov 27th 2005

Sometimes I play a good round of "shisensho". Does anybody know this? There's also a NES game of that genre. "Tiles of fate". If you didn't already, try it! It's addicting. There's a very good anthology of games (including shisensho, they call it rivers there) for the PC. Go to http://www.kyodai.com/ and download it. It's very good software, even good enough to pay for it. You don't have to, though.

Delta Force 2 online was the first computer game I really got hooked on playing online. The maps are massive, I never played on broadband though..only back on my 56k (it was ugly, but so much fun). Rogue Spear is my other favorite for online play. The Carmaggedon Series has to be my all time favorite computer game series. Carmaggedon 2 Carpocalypse Now is my favorite. It's just so fun, and it's a breeze to mod. And creating your own mods extends the game's life to like 8 years. Oh, the sweet memories....I don't play computer games anymore.
